Identity & AML Checks

A Simple Step to Keep Property Transactions Secure

Standard requirement

These checks are now part of Australia's real estate regulatory framework.

Nothing to worry about

Being asked for information does not mean there is any suspicion about the customer.

We keep it simple

Most straightforward transactions should only require information appropriate to the circumstances.

From 1 July 2026, Australian real estate professionals became subject to expanded Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) requirements.

For most people dealing with William Whyte Property, this simply means that at the appropriate stage of a property transaction, we may need to confirm some basic information about who you are.

There is no need to be concerned.

These are standard legal requirements applying to the real estate industry across Australia. Being asked to complete an identity or AML check does not mean there is any concern or suspicion about you or your transaction.

Our aim is to make the process as straightforward and unobtrusive as possible.
